Dr. Bindu Rana’s Profile

Dr. Bindu Rana Dr. Bindu Rana, an educationist with over 20 years of experience and expertise in the field of education is currently the Director of Research and Development team at Educomp Solutions Limited. Her focus and endeavors have culminated into variety of innovative educational products which take the world to a new era of education.

  A professional Dr. Bindu attained her post graduate degree in Education, specialization in Special Education followed by a PhD in Education. Her career commenced as a teacher and progressed on as she took up more challenging assignments as a Counselor, Special Educator, Trainer, Researcher and Head of a school. Her passion for teaching inspires her to be a lecturer at B.ED/M.ED colleges even today.

She was actively involved with various NGO’s working for children with special needs, researched and initiated educational programmes in rural, urban and vocational areas. She was also associated with UNESCO projects for education of slum children.

  A visionary

Her philosophy is based on the fact that every child can be a learner if he/she is given a chance to compete with himself /herself. She has always focused on inclusive education for children with special needs and has created learning systems which create an environment for them to learn within the mainstream schools.

 A thorough professional in her approach Dr. Bindu Rana leads a team of over 100 professionals at Educomp’s R&D centre. She has been a pioneer in creating various educational systems for Educomp namely:

A product designed for children at first educational level based on philosophy of sequential learning. It is here the child develops basic roots of learning with the culturally appropriate environment, values, love and protection needed to help these roots grow strong. It is from here emerges the wings of freedom, confidence, creativity dreams and this shapes the future of the child.

  Millennium Learning SystemTM (MLS1)-School for classes I-V

The Millennium Learning System-Level One is a scientifically structured and systematically designed skill based educational system. The system has been created to cater to the needs of the parents, educationists and most importantly the children. This integrates the NCERT educational content with the best pedagogic teaching methodologies along with mapping of this content to digital content and ensures that learning is application based at all times.

  Millennium Learning System TM (MLS2) – School for classes VI-VIII

The Millennium Learning System-Level Two, is in continuum with the Millennium Learning System-Level One and focuses on Classes VI to VIII. The education provided within this system enables the students to become lifelong learners who are equipped with 21st century skills and are able to harness their learning to the maximum, both in personal and professional lives. The students are exposed to a number of futuristic vocations related to the concepts being taught in the class, which enables them to see the world through a different perspective and equip them to make better choices about their future professions.

  O3 Learning System TM - Amalgamation of Technology with Education

The One on One (O3) Learning System is an initiative in collaboration with Intel, which gives the schools a new dimension by providing teachers with a state of the art teaching technology. The O3 learning system aims to transform the teaching learning process and perfectly blends technology and pedagogy.

 Eduignite TM – Online Assessment System

 The Eduignite system is an online assessment system for students from Class I to Class XII. In this system series of tests assist the student to discover their potential as a function of their skills which are both content and personality specific. Through a personalised learning plan prepared by Eduignite education advisors and counsellors students set their success goals and track them through achievement milestones.

 Learning Hour TM – Online Educational Content  

Learning Hour has a chain of tutoring centers, started after years of research into the tutoring needs of school students across India. The student course material is prepared at R & D Educomp by a team of highly qualified experts and ensures the students master concepts through suitably crafted exercises and examples, and learning by doing.

  Vidya Prabhat TM – Low Budget Schools

These schools are budget schools and hence the curriculum is designed to ensure that the students learn from their environment in a cost friendly manner. The environment is treated as a learning tool and all content is mapped to a theme and the natural resources which are easily available to the learners. The curriculum also looks into the needs of the parents and focuses on the rights of the students as to ‘how to learn’. The curriculum is woven around the NCERT syllabus and enhances the curriculum both at the prerequisite level and at the skill building level.

 ABCL

It is Autonomy Based Concept Learning which advocates each child to be the master of his own learning. The instructions of each concept are clearly laid down. They help the learner to reach his optimum potential while learning at different levels. To ensure this, each concept is broken down into various sub-topics. Through this method the student learns more than just the facts. By autonomous learning student thinks and extends beyond rote memorization of facts to higher order critical thinking through practice sheets.

Dr. Bindu Rana has always worked towards the progression of the society. She has her priorities in place and believes in making her contribution towards society and runs a NGO called ‘Friends Organisation. The NGO focuses on creating a recreational centre for adults who are differently abled. 

Learning is an ongoing process, is the motto of her life as a result she is always open to new ideas and changing ideologies. As a result she has shared her knowledge at Harvard University, TESOL Convention at Denver and has presided over conferences such as ‘Inclusion and Disability’, ‘Teaching Methodologies’ and ‘Philosophy of Education’ to name a few.
